The Seattle Area Legal Recruiting Administrators (SALRA) is a professional, nonprofit, educational organization. SALRA was formed in 1988 to provide Seattle area recruiting professionals with an informational network and educational forum for its members. SALRA includes over twenty law firms of all sizes whose offices are based in the Seattle area or who have a branch office in this locale, and two local law schools.
SALRA provides an excellent educational resource for both new and experienced recruiting professionals. Monthly meetings, hosted by member law firms, provide opportunities to discuss topics regularly encountered in recruiting and retaining attorneys. These topics can include best practices in recruiting law students and attorneys, managing a summer associate program, or integrating new attorneys into a law firm. Meetings also provide opportunities for members to network informally with one another. Experienced SALRA members often serve as sources of information and advice for new members. SALRA committees coordinate a number of annual events for the summer associates at member law firms, including a reception for students and attorneys of color.
